Embroidering a brassiere

Postby benau » Mon Dec 04, 2017 2:51 am

Hello, I'm new to this forum and new to the art/craft of embroidering.

My question: I have a project embroidering a brassiere. I'm doing this by hand using plastic sequins and beads. I'm hesitant to sew on sequins/beads to the very thin Outer (91% cotton, 9% elastane). Can I sew part way into the Interior padding (100% polyurethane)? Will that end up damaging the garment?

Other details:
- I'm using thin black Clover brand Japanese needles and Fujix 100% cotton.
- The bra is Oysho brand. Specifically: https://www.oysho.com/gb/bras/basics/co ... Category=0
- Description of garment: Basic triangular bra without underwire. Features padding, more comfortable elastics and adjustable straps.

COMPOSITION
Outer: 91% cotton, 9% elastane
Lining: 72% polyester, 27% cotton, 1% elastane
Interior: 100% polyurethane

Many thanks for taking the time to read this.
