I have a Singer 111W153. If I remove the bobbin case from the machine and thread it outside the unit, it works fine - until after I use it for a while. At that point the thread down below starts to bunch, etc. If I remove the bobbin case again and rethread, the problem goes away.

What's it sound like to you?

That the bobbin case spring needs to be removed, the area below it and the spring cleaned, and then the case reassembled and replaced.

When you do this, also check that there are no burs or other damage to the spring or case. If there are, it will need to be replaced.

Once i replaced the bobbin case the problem was solved
